Claire Kincaid
Mining EIT

Bio

I've had the good fortune to travel often in my life, and have moved close to 20 times, in the US, Japan, Ireland, and Sweden. I'm always off on a new adveture. At the moment, home is in Broomfield, CO, where I work remotely as a mining engineering consultant for JDS Mining, based in Vancouver. When not onsite, I can often be found in the workshop, on the dance floor, or traveling to a new and exciting place.

Employment

I currently work for JDS Mining as a mining engineering consultant, where I am focusing on broadening my experience base in mining and operations while offering specialized expertise in mining equipment and novel technology for mining applications. Prior to this position, I worked as a global applications specialist for underground automation and electrification at Epiroc Underground's operational headquarters in Örebro, Sweden. This role was also primarily a consulting role, focusing specifically on delivering and maximizing value for Epiroc's underground mining customers via proper deployment of automated or battery electric equipment.

Education

I graduated from Olin College of Engineering in 2019 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and minors in geology and interdisciplinary communications. I graduated with my MS in Earth Resources Development Engineering from Colorado School of Mines in 2021; my theses focused on diversity and inclusion in mining and applications of battery electric and hybrid drivetrains in underground LHDs. I passed the FE in November of 2023 and anticipate taking the PE in October of 2024.
